Legislative Committee to Hold Budget Heatings in Cambridge

The Joint Committee on Finance is holding a series of public hearings around the state on the biennial budget bill (AB75). The hearing nearest to the Fort Atkinson area will be held at the Amundson Community Center (200 Spring Drive) in Cambridge on Friday April 3. The hearing will start at 10:00 am and is scheduled to end at 4:00 pm. If you wish to express your opinion on anything in the state budget, this is a good opportunity.

If you plan to go, here are a few tips:

• You can register to speak (white form) or just register your opinion without speaking (blue form)

• If you registered to speak you will be given a number

• Speaker are taken in the order in which they registered

• If you wish to be on the top of the list, get there early (9:30 am)

• Speakers are limited to 3 minutes so get right to your point

• If past experience is any indication, expect a large turnout (hundreds of people)

• There will be legislative staff in the check-in area to answer questions and provide direction

2009-2010 Wisconsin Legislative Session

The 2009-10 Wisconsin legislative session began on January 5, 2009 and will end in June 2010. Chamber members maybe interested in some resources to follow the proceedings. The following are just a few links that can get you started.

This being a budget year much of what will be considered by the legislature will be in the biannual budget bill (AB 75).
